Privacy Policy
Summary
- Moodiary stores your journal content (drawings, goals, notes) locally on your device. We do not run servers that receive it.
- No account or sign‑in. Export/import is manual and under your control.
- The app displays banner ads via Google AdMob. We request non‑personalized ads by default and do not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- We do not engage in cross‑app tracking, and we do not sell your journal data.
Information We Process
On your device (not sent to us)
- Journal content: drawings, goals, notes, and dates. Stored locally in app storage (Core Data) on your device.
- Preferences: layout mode, calendar dot size, and haptics setting.
- Exports/Imports: If you choose to export, a JSON file is created for you to save/share; if you import, the file you select is read into the app.
Automatically by third parties (for ads)
We use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to serve in‑app banner ads. AdMob may process request‑level data such as IP address, coarse location (derived from IP), device information, app version, and ad interactions to deliver non‑personalized ads, prevent fraud, and measure performance. We configure ad requests for non‑personalized ads and do not access the IDFA (no ATT prompt).
- Provider: Google LLC (and affiliates)
- Policy: Google Privacy Policy
- Ad partners: AdMob Partners
We include Apple’s SKAdNetwork IDs recommended by Google to support aggregated ad measurement without tracking individual users.
How We Use Information
- On‑device only: Your journal content is used to render the calendar, day entries, and thumbnails.
- Ads: AdMob uses request‑level data to show non‑personalized ads, cap frequency, detect fraud, and measure performance.
Retention & Security
- Your journal data resides on your device until you delete it (e.g., via in‑app clear, app deletion, or system settings).
- Device backups (e.g., iCloud/iTunes) may include app data subject to your device settings.
- We recommend enabling a device passcode/biometrics to protect local data.
Your Choices & Rights
- Export/Import: Use in‑app settings to export or import your entries as JSON.
- Delete: Clear specific days in‑app, or delete the app to remove local data.
- Ads: We request non‑personalized ads by default. You can also limit ad personalization at the device level (iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising) and manage tracking permissions (iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
- Regional rights: If you are in the EEA/UK or similar jurisdictions, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not host your journal on our servers, most requests pertain to third‑party ad data (see Google’s policy links above).
Children’s Privacy
Moodiary is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, please contact us and we will promptly address it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect app changes or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
